Welcome. I’m Jason Foster, MA, LMHC. Based out of Seattle, I provide counseling services for individuals and couples. I take a gentle, client-centered approach to counseling, often using techniques of mindfulness-based, body-centered psychotherapy.
In a safe, trusting environment, a therapeutic conversation can help us create space to look carefully at ourselves, at our thoughts, feelings, and needs. We might discover that we really aren’t broken. We can be clearer in the decisions we make. We can heal old wounds so that we can live our lives more fully in the present, with a greater sense of peace and happiness. We can learn how to get our deepest needs met, in a way that is healthy and life-giving for everybody we’re in contact with.
I work with people to collaboratively discover how they might benefit from counseling. As each client’s needs are unique, a therapeutic conversation is often a response to what you are experiencing from moment to moment. I help my clients discover what works for them in therapy, meaning that I will challenge you when you think you need to be challenged, while offering support and encouragement.
I draw on elements of mindfulness, systems theory, and Core Energetics. Through conversation with my clients, I offer an ever-deepening awareness of the nature of their true selves, and through this understanding, it is my hope that we will discover new ways of seeing and new ways of being.
